How an SEO-first migration and an automated content engine turned a limiting website builder into a compounding search asset.
The client
A boutique architecture studio with a strong portfolio in an underserved, high-value niche, and a website that did none of it justice.
The challenge
- A legacy Wix site that was slow (heavy uncompressed images, builder bloat) and hard to optimize.
- Weak on-page SEO: duplicate, keyword-stuffed title tags, generic URL slugs, a single non-descriptive heading, and image filenames used as alt text.
- Almost no structured data, and no fresh content, the blog had been silent for over a year.
- Thin authority and incomplete local SEO.
- The real missed opportunity: no one had claimed thought-leadership authority in the studio’s technical specialty. An open lane.
The approach
A three-phase build-and-grow engagement.
- An SEO-first migration, Wix to Webflow. A custom design system and CMS, content migrated with a full 301-redirect map so existing equity carried over, and a technical SEO overhaul: image compression, clean keyword-rich URLs, proper heading hierarchy, descriptive alt text, and LocalBusiness / Organization / Project schema.
- A dual-site architecture. The firm site plus a principal personal-brand site, doubling search real estate and cross-linking authority.
- An automated content engine plus retainer. A production pipeline that pulls drafts from a shared drive, formats them, and publishes straight to the Webflow CMS every week, feeding an ongoing authority play around the studio’s underserved niche, with monthly reporting.
The result
The studio moved off a limiting website builder onto a fast, fully optimized Webflow site with clean technical SEO and structured data, and, crucially, an automated publishing system that keeps producing niche-authority content every week without manual effort. The engagement has run as an ongoing managed service, and the content engine is live in production.
Why it matters
A redesign that doesn’t move rankings is just a repaint. We migrate for SEO (redirects, schema, speed) and then install a system that keeps compounding authority, so the site keeps working long after launch.
